Helping Black Communities Unite Inc. was founded on the Highest of the Seven Hills at Florida A&M University on February 28th, 2022, by Christopher Mathews; alongside, Ethan Walker, Winzie Wilson, and Imani Ho-Sang who helped establish the first chapter. We at Helping Black Communities Unite Inc. saw the need to begin healing trauma by fostering relationships and breaking away from monoliths within the Black community. We are bridging gaps within the Black community through “uncomfortable” yet necessary conversations and challenging societal norms, systems, and institutions afflicting the Indigenous Black & African Diaspora. Our mission is to be the seed that, once watered, will unite all like-minded people under a common purpose.
