Helping Black Communites Unite Inc. is advocating on the local, state, and national levels of governance for permanent solutions to the various issues facing Black America.
Trades in Public Schools
We are advocating for the inclusion of trades in public schools to equip Black youth with essential vocational skills, thereby enhancing their employability and fostering economic independence to address historical disparities in educational and career opportunities.
*Unbiased* Black History
We will continue to advocate for the teaching of Black history year-round: to foster cultural awareness, pride, and understanding, which is vital for addressing systemic racism and promoting a more inclusive narrative in society.
Prison & Justice Reform
We are advocating for prison and justice reform at local, state, and federal levels to dismantle systemic racism and reduce the disproportionate incarceration rates of Black individuals, thereby promoting equitable treatment and rehabilitation within the justice system.
Home Ownership & Homeless Programs
We are advocating for home ownership & homeless programs within national, state, and local governments, to combat the long-standing barriers to equitable housing access, which have historically marginalized Black families, causing gentrification, mass homelessness, and ultimately hindering wealth accumulation.
Black Business Incubators
We are advocating for Black business incubators, on the national, state, and local level. To create supportive environments for Black entrepreneurs that can stimulate local economic growth, foster innovation, and address the funding disparities that inhibit Black-owned businesses.
Infrastructure Improvements
On the local level, we strongly advocate for infrastructure improvements to ensure that Black communities receive equitable access to essential services and resources, which is critical for fostering economic development and enhancing quality of life.
Community Garden
Funding & Programs
We are pushing for more funding for local community garden programs to promote food sovereignty and environmental sustainability, empowering Black communities to reclaim agency over their food sources and improve local nutrition.
Gang Prevention & Intervention
We are advocating for reformative gang prevention and intervention initiatives in state and local ordinace to address the root causes of gang involvement, providing youth with constructive alternatives and support systems that contribute to community safety and well-being.
Food Security
To combat food security within impoverished areas, we are advocating for establishing Black Restaurant Funds on the national, state, and local levels to enhance food quality within Black communities by supporting local culinary businesses, which contributes to economic resilience and the preservation of cultural heritage through food.
